Wall Street Journal (March 14, 2022) — (Op-Ed by Harold Hamm, Founder of Continental Resources) Gasoline prices are higher than we have ever seen. The government reported a year-over-year inflation rate of 7.9% for February, the highest since 1982. Americans need relief, and one thing stands in the way: President Biden’s unwillingness to reverse course on his administration’s commitment to put the American oil-and-gas industry out of business at the consumer’s expense.

NY Post (March 11, 2022) – (By Glenn Harlan Reynolds,a professor of law at the University of Tennessee and founder of the InstaPundit.com blog) The record of ‘establishment hacks’ seems pretty bad. Of course, that assumes they want cheap gas, cheap food, energy independence and to promote America’s interests. There’s every reason to think the opposite: We’re not getting cheap gas, cheap food, energy independence, etc. because that’s not what the establishment wants. What we’re getting is what the establishment does want; if we don’t like it, tough.

Don’t pretend that high prices and American suffering are a ‘bug’ for the establishment — it’s a historic feature

Western Energy Alliance (March 8, 2022) – On March 3rd, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, in response to a question about increasing domestic oil production, attempted to shift blame to oil companies by citing “9,000 approved oil leases that the oil companies are not tapping into currently,” since adjusted to 9,000 permits. While we may not appreciate the cynical attempt to deny the effects of the president’s own “no federal oil” policies, we appreciate the White House’s suddenly messaging to “encourage” us to produce.  However, there are some facts that the public should be aware of.  (Click below to see discussion)

Energy Monitor (March 2, 2022) – Natural gas, its utilities and its delivery infrastructure will be essential for the US net-zero transition, announced the American Gas Association (AGA), a Washington, D.C.-based trade organisation, in February. It released a plan and analysis setting out why.

The report, titled Net-Zero Emissions Opportunities for Gas Utilities, suggests a nationwide strategy to leverage the benefits of gas technologies and distribution infrastructure.

Associated Press (February 22, 2022) – The Biden administration is delaying decisions on new oil and gas drilling on federal land and other energy-related actions after a federal court blocked the way officials were calculating the real-world costs of climate change.  The administration said in a legal filing that a Feb. 11 ruling by a Louisiana federal judge will affect dozens of rules by at least four federal agencies.

The Hill (February 21, 2022) – The Western Energy Alliance and IPAA have authored the following op-ed urging President Biden to reopen the United State to domestic oil production.  Please read this refreshingly pragmatic letter.  IPANM echoes these sentiments.

Working Like The Devil To Lower Energy Prices

The Hill (February 20, 2022) – The Biden administration will suspend or delay new federal oil and gas leasing following a court ruling against the process by which it calculates the social cost of climate change, the administration announced Saturday night.  On Feb. 11, Judge James Cain of the Western District of Louisiana, a Trump appointee, blocked the administration’s method of calculating the social costs associated with greenhouse gases, the primary driver of climate change.

Albuquerque Journal (February 17, 2022) –  A proposal to establish a clean fuel standard in New Mexico failed on a tie vote early Thursday as the House deadlocked 33-33 on the bill.  Ten Democrats — many from rural parts of the state — joined every Republican present to vote against the bill.
